“你家有空餘的單間出租嗎？”
中國的房價是一種極為罕見的奇景，它就像一層厚厚的肥油，泛著令人厭惡的泡沫，頑固地賴在房地產這碗湯表面，無法拂去。即便你再飢餓難耐，也依然望之生畏，尤其是在寸土寸金的皇城——北京。
要在這個塞車能把人塞成尿失禁的地方，打拼個一萬多塊一平方米的窩，即便是方從心這樣的白領，也至少得先存上個幾年，再供上個幾年。但不管怎麼說，比之她手下那些一個月拿三四千、一多半都流進了房東腰包的弟兄，她好歹還算是有指望的。
她常常會想起剛畢業那會兒四處找房的顛沛流離的生活，那時候，她就在想，要拼命賺錢買房子。
沒老公的女人是孤單的，沒房子的女人是悲慘的。尤其在這個男人越來越不男人的年代。即便你有男人，你也不知他何時就會勾搭上個年輕的小三兒，再把你這糟糠之妻踹出門去。這時，你若是沒有自己的窩，就沒了根據地，那就只好帶上個雪碧瓶兒，到旗杆底下坐去，最後結果是便衣帥哥會讓你在收容所和拘留所之間二選一。但房子絕不會踹了你，是你的就是你的。
所以，方從心很勤奮務實地在二十六歲那年靠著公積金和存款完成了首付與貸款，把她視為後半輩子依靠的小鑰匙拿到了手，開始了她作為“房奴”的生涯。
然而，方從心沒有男人。
其實她相貌不差，雖然比不得明星，但素面朝天也算略有姿色，稍微打理打理，便當得起一聲“美女”了
